Joint Legislative Committee on Access to Care and Medicaid Expansion Holds First Meeting

The Joint Legislative Committee on Access to Care and Medicaid Expansion convened last Friday for its first meeting. The committee received presentations on a wide range of topics related to improving access to health care and health insurance for North Carolinians. NC Superior Court Upholds New State and Congressional District Maps

January 14, 2022

Following an expedited three-day trial on the constitutionality of North Carolina’s new state legislative and congressional district maps, a panel of superior court judges unanimously ruled that the new maps will stand and are within the bounds of the state’s constitution. 

House and Senate Release Conference Budget

November 16, 2021

North Carolina House and Senate Republican leaders released a final conference budget on Monday after months of negotiations with Governor Cooper’s office. The two-year budget allocates a combination of revenue streams, including nearly $53 billion from the state’s General Fund and an additional $5.1 billion from the federal government’s American Rescue Plan Act.
